It sets out our rigorous process and frequency for resource review, providing clients with confidence that every effort is made to ensure exceptional value for money.

1. Scope of Application

This policy applies to all CPD activities and courses offered by Hair by Kissa, including:

  • In-person Masterclasses
  • Online Courses
  • Workshops
  • Webinars
  • One-on-one Training Sessions

2. Our Commitment to Quality

We are dedicated to providing the highest quality educational content that is accurate, relevant, and impactful. Regular content reviews are integral to ensuring our courses meet the evolving demands of the hairdressing industry and the learning needs of our clients.

3. Review Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for reviewing course content rests with Kissa, the business owner, in collaboration with our CPD Accreditor. This joint oversight ensures both practical relevance and adherence to accredited standards.

4. Review Criteria

Every course content review will rigorously assess the following aspects:

  • Accuracy and Up-to-dateness: Ensuring all information is factually correct, current, and reflects the latest techniques, products, and industry trends.
  • Relevance to Industry Standards & Best Practices: Confirming the content aligns with professional expectations and meaningfully contributes to skill development or knowledge enhancement within the hair and beauty industry.
  • Clarity and Comprehensibility: Verifying that the language is clear, concise, and easy for learners to understand, with complex concepts explained effectively.
  • Achievement of Learning Objectives: Assessing whether the content directly enables participants to achieve the stated learning outcomes and objectives for the course.
  • Practical Application/Applicability: Confirming that the knowledge or skill taught is directly applicable and useful in a real-world salon environment or for a professional stylist.
  • Engagement and Delivery: Evaluating whether the content is structured and presented in a way that keeps learners engaged and facilitates effective learning (e.g., through visuals, exercises, examples).
  • Value for Money: Ensuring the content delivers on the promise of value, providing comprehensive and useful information relative to the investment made by the client.

5. Review Process Steps

Our comprehensive course content review process follows these steps:

  1. Preparation & Data Gathering:
    • A specific timeframe for the review is agreed upon with the CPD Accreditor.
    • All relevant course materials (e.g., lesson plans, presentations, handouts, pre-course materials, assessment tools) for the course or activity being reviewed are compiled.
    • Feedback from past participants (e.g., from post-course surveys, evaluation forms, or testimonials) related to the content’s quality, clarity, and relevance is systematically collected.
  2. Initial Review (by Kissa):
    • Kissa, as the primary content creator and instructor, conducts an initial self-assessment of the materials against all agreed-upon criteria.
    • Areas needing updating, clarification, or strengthening are identified, along with specific points for discussion with the accreditor.
  3. Accreditor Review:
    • The CPD Accreditor independently reviews the course content, considering Kissa’s self-assessment and compiled participant feedback, assessing against the established criteria.
  4. Collaborative Review & Feedback Session:
    • Kissa and the CPD Accreditor hold a dedicated session to discuss findings, identify areas for improvement, and formulate specific recommendations.
  5. Content Revision & Update:
    • Based on the agreed-upon recommendations, Kissa revises and updates the course content (e.g., updating information, improving clarity, adding new examples, refining activities, or restructuring sections).
  6. Final Approval & Documentation:
    • The revised content is submitted to the CPD Accreditor for final review and approval, ensuring all recommendations have been addressed to meet required standards.
    • All review findings, recommendations, and implemented changes are formally documented.

6. Review Frequency

Each course and CPD activity content will be formally reviewed:

  • At least annually.
  • More frequently when significant industry changes, new techniques, product launches, or relevant regulatory updates require it.

7. Documentation of Reviews

To maintain clear records and an audit trail, the following documentation methods will be used:

  1. Dedicated Course Content Review Record Form: A standard form will be completed for each review, detailing:
    • Course/Activity Name, Date of Review, Reviewers.
    • A checklist or rating system for each review criterion with space for comments.
    • Key findings, specific recommendations, action plan, and timeline.
    • Date of completion/implementation of changes and sign-off by both reviewers.
  2. Version Control/Change Log within Course Materials: For digital course materials, a dedicated version control log will be maintained, recording:
    • Version Number, Date of Revision.
    • A brief description of changes made (e.g., “Updated balayage section,” “Clarified product recommendations”).
    • The reason for the change (e.g., “Annual review,” “Industry update,” “Participant feedback”).

8. Policy Review

This Course Content Review Policy itself will be reviewed and updated annually to ensure its continued effectiveness, relevance, and alignment with Hair by Kissa’s operational practices and CPD accreditation requirements.
